Children in Years 5 and 6 enjoyed learning about some of our native animals from Rodney who works at Sydney's marvellous Taronga Zoo. We had the opportunity to touch a lively and friendly python. Other creatures to arrive on this hot, early summer's day included a possum, turtle, frog and phasmid. It was good to hear how each is so well adapted to its habitat. Congratulations to Imogen S. and sisters, Grace and Hannah, who will become the new owners of the STEM phasmids next week. Their names were drawn this morning at assembly from those who had written letters expressing their interest in keeping these fascinating insects. -mjp |
