THE BFG
“One dark and spooky night the clock was right on twelve o’clock, and in the giant country, there was no-one there.” (Sophia) “I is running from Giant Country, to all around Great Britain, and blowing dreams into little Children’s ears.” (Dan) “I is taking 6 fizzwizards and 1 trogglehumper, just in case I come across a naughty, horrible child.” (Sami) “I blow dreams into kids, and try to run away before they see me.” (Natalya) “I is putting down my suitcase and is grabbing the bottle with the label saying ‘Explosion, the Dream’. This is a fizzwizard, which is a good dream about exploding a school.” (Rhea) “Just before I was going to blow the very first fizzwizard dream in England, I heard footsteps like a sloth walking on its hind legs. I tried camouflaging into the shadows, but there were no shadows.” (Jasper) “I is hearing something from down below. It sounds like a little childer is having a trogglehumper. I crouch down, and blow a few fizzwizards about a holiday in Fiji.” (Sol) “I waited (because I love seeing childers smiling). (Grace P) “I started to pack up my suitcase, when I looked around and saw a little girl with glasses, with very thick lenses, just staring at me.” (Elza) “I went closer and closer to the big house, and put my big eye into the window, and saw a girl shivering.” (Sebastian) “I took one step, snatched the girl from her bed, and ran.” (Isabella) “ She was curled up in her blanket when I was zooming over puddles, which were actually oceans, and little grasslands, which were huge jungles. When I was at giant country, and safe in my cave, I lay the small girl down on my twelve foot tall table, and sat on my six foot chair.” (Sacha) “Silence filled the room for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Then the ground shook like a bunch of elephants stampeding.” (Zachary) |
SOPHIE
“It was a foggy, bland, winter night and I was in my orphanage dormitory.” (Angus) “The moon was full, and the light was piercing through the darkness and shining right on my face, like a sword that was never used in battle, and had been polished a thousand times.” (Amy) “The room was pitch black. The clock struck one. Now it was witching hour.” (Lachlan) “I wriggle and squirm in my orphanage bed. I hate this bed. It’s rock hard, and has the tiniest sheets ever imagined.” (Grace K) “One dark, gloom night I couldn’t get to sleep. Suddenly there was a big, thumping sound outside.” (Nellie) “I was trying to get to sleep when I heard the slightest noise of someone sliding on the other side of the street.” (Annabel) “I was just about to drift off to sleep, when I heard a quiet noise. It sounded like a huge suitcase being put down. I was curious, so I put on my glasses and my slippers and crept out of bed.” (Cleophe) “I got out of my bed and looked out the window. I was scared, and at the exact same time I was amazed.” (Ella) “Suddenly I saw a dark shadow galloping towards me at tremendous speed.” (Annalise) “Out of the shadows, I saw a dark shape moving against the dark red brick wall.” (Ben) “I ducked under the curtains, only to realize that I had forgotten my glasses. I ran back to get them, and went back to the window.” (Erica) “I tried to close the window, but it didn’t close. I ran like Youssain Bolt, into my bed.” (Jess) “As he blew, I felt a silent breeze whizzing past my hair. I picked up my glasses and saw a blue and green mist floating into the children’s room.” (Olivia) “Suddenly this man saw my face, and stuck a humungous, wrinkly, disgusting arm through the orphanage window, and grabbed my bed. I was curled up like a ball under my blanket, thinking I was supper for this ferocious giant.” (Oliver) “Then a big shadow was moving to me. I jumped into my bed, and covered myself with my blanket. Something grabbed me. I tried to scream but I couldn’t.” (Zach) “Then I felt a big hand grab onto me. I tried to scream, but nothing came out.” (Luca) “I peeked through a hole in the blanket and saw a long, wrinkly hand come through the window. Then SNATCH…” (Isabelle) “I ran into bed, hoping he would go away, but he snatched me in my blanket. I could tell he was running with me because I was moving around like crazy.” (Maddy) “He was a giant. He had huge ears, hairy feet like a hobbit. He had vomit coloured pants and very baggy clothes.” (Liam) “I saw plants such as trees, and shadows in the gloomy night. I saw bats in the sky, and squirrels in the trees. I felt this creature galloping hard on the ground.” (Molly) “I thought I was as good as grass under an elephant, when we came to a stop. He then lay me down on a stone. A hot finger ran down my spine.” (Sam) |
